The apple tree from the previous post seems to like it's new home and is just about to flower.  Lets hope we get lots of apples from it this year.  I feel the need for lots of apple crumble :0)

The tubs in the garden are blooming away like mad at the moment.  This one is my favourite.  It's an old whisky barrel, that up until last year had the Apple tree in it.  The tree is now planted out and the pansies have taken over :0)

Unfortunately Moss is still no better today and we had to take him the vet this afternoon.  His back legs seem to be giving him some problems and the vet had now started him on a course on anti-inflammatory tablets.  Lets hope they work soon.  It's hard to see him struggling to get up.

Saturday night could only mean one thing.........Cowboy Night.  My friend Karen very kindly offered to host the night at her house.  The girls had practised a line dance and can now do the Cowboy Boogie!! We all took along some kind of Texan dish and ate far too much delicious food.  As you can see there is some very big hair involved.
It was an absolutely brilliant night/early morning.  I won't say what time we left.  I'll just say, it was light when we got there and it was light when we left!!

A bit of a sad looking pup today.  Not sure what's wrong with him but hopefully it's nothing that will last too long.

Our walk today was up through Quarrelwood.  We managed another 3 miles in our lunch hour.  It's good having Carol to walk with as she knows the area like the back of her hand.

Another 3 mile walk at lunch time today with my friend Carol. It was a bit chilly but the trees in the park made up for the grey sky.  It's lovely to see the blossom coming out.

Cosied up on the sofa tonight and watched The Lone Ranger with John.  It wasn't too bad, just a bit longer than expected.  It is a school  night after all!!

It was a gorgeous day today and John and took a stroll around the local estate.  It was lovely to see the sun shining through the new leaves but we were surprised to see how low the pond's water level was and wondered how the swans will make their nest this year as there isn't anywhere secluded enough for them.

It was the Indoor Bowling Club's end of season buffet, dance and presentation evening tonight and the overall winner of the ladies (Helen) passed her trophy around for everyone to have a "wee sip".  As you can tell by the look on my face the wine didn't taste very nice.  Still it could have been worse it could have been a "blended whisky" and not a single malt.............now that would be scandalous!!!

We had another day off today as it's Good Friday.  What better to do than get the washing out on the line and clear out the loft?

Tomorrow will be a run (or two) to the tip.

It was my friend Joanne's birthday today so tonight we enjoyed a lovely meal with friends in a local hotel. The Teenager and my other friend's daughter K came along later.  Just in time for dessert!!

We're off out to the indoor bowling club, end of season "Do" on Saturday and I thought it wise to try on some dresses to see if they still fitted!!

Luckily some still do.  Phew!!

Outdoor bowling seasons starts Sunday afternoon.  Best not go over board on Saturday night!!

Tonight I learnt about Zentangle from a lovely lady called Ann Doble who owns Artinkulate.  I've heard of it before but never given it much thought.  Some of her designs are beautiful and must have taken days to make.  We all got to have a go and here is mine!!

I made two lots of Brownies tonight.  One for the lovely ladies at the WI tomorrow and one for the Teenager.  After the disaster of  last week I thought I should "road test" them!!  They were delicious :0)

Today, as the sun was shining, we lit the pizza oven and had friends round for pizza and steaks.  I got the garden chairs out and gave them a clean, the washing had been out drying in the sun and the day looked set to be lovely.

How wrong can you be.  The washing had to come in, the chairs never got sat on and it rained whist the pizzas were in the oven,

103/365

then it started hail stoning and everyone ran for cover.

it only lasted about two minutes then the sun came back out.

A typical Scottish Sunday in April :0)

We didn't really have a plan for sightseeing today.
However, a grey and overcast morning gave way to a gloriously sunny afternoon and that decided us.
It was an afternoon for being outside.
One of the highlights was my young nephew wanting to hold my hand as we wandered around Hyde Park.

All together.  Spending time with the family.  It's the first time we've all been together since October 2005.  Let's hope it's not another 8 years till it happens again.

Today I promised the Teenager I'd make brownies, so after I'd done some ironing I cracked on and rustled some up.  Unfortunately, due to either my poor timings or naff oven they turned out a bit of a "Disaster Darling".

Still the Teenager says they taste OK.

97/365
I'll have to try making some more this week as I need to make some for the WI next Tuesday.

96/365

On Sunday, Mum and I took Moss for a walk whilst the Teenager was at work and John was revising (I'll be glad when this exam is over).  We decided that, as the sun was shining, we'd walk along the river Spey. Unfortunately the sun didn't last very long before the grey clouds came rolling over.

96/365

On a plus note we did see our first red squirrel of the year  :0)

95/365

As John was doing more revision for his management exam on Tuesday, Mum and I decided to get out of the house for a while.  We walked up to Baxters and had coffee and scones then looked in all the shops including the one about how the store first started.

94/365

On Friday I had to collect John from the airport in Aberdeen after he'd spent the week in England on a management course. Then in the afternoon we filled in paperwork for his new job and I made easy peasy Salami pasta for tea.

Ooops I'm a bit behind on posting my daily photos.

Mum and I popped over to Inverness for a bit of "Retail Therapy" on Thursday and were met in the shopping centre by Gizzen Briggs a VERY talented set of pupils from Tain Royal Academy in Tain.

A quiet day today.  A trip to the wax shop this morning followed by an afternoon of sewing.  Mum made a phone case and I made a white poppy for a friend of hers.

As a treat for helping with the cleaning I took Mum to Brodie Castle for lunch yesterday.  We walked past the castle, down and around the lake and back up to the castle tea room where we had cheese and chutney toasties and gallons of tea.  It was lovely.  I then had to go to Fat Club where I still managed to lose weight. A happy day for me. :0)

Monday was the first day of the school holidays and I celebrated by "Blizting" my kitchen.  Mum helped so it didn't take as long as it had in the past and I am so happy now it's done.

Sunday was Mother's Day and I got to spend it with my Mum, for the first time in soooooooo long.  We had a great day and had a lovely meal at the local Italian restaurant followed by a glass or two of "Fizz" when we got home.
