What a shiner

I'm not sure what my young nephew has been up to but he has a huge shiner.
I wonder what the other guy looks like? :0)

Cloud watching

Whilst out in the garden yesterday I looked up and saw some really cool clouds.

I think we used to call the Mares Tails but I could be wrong.

They were pretty cool anyway, whatever they are called.

It pays to look up every now and again.

Yarndale 2013

Oh how I wish I was in Skipton in Yorkshire right now.  It's the first ever Yarndale and I'd so love to be there.

The lovely Lucy over at Attic24 is one of the founders of this wonderful woolly event.  It's all about woolly goodness, crafts and like minded people.  Knitting or crochet. sewing, spinning or felting.  They've got the lot.

Imagine all the colourful, yummy hooky goodies on show.  If you're in the area pop along and take a look.

I'm hoping there will be another one next year and that I'll be there :0)

Scavenger Hunt 2013 - The final two

Well I'm pleased to say that I've completed my first ever Scavenger Hunt.  This year it was hosted by the lovely Rinda over at Gallo Oganico.  Thank you so much for putting this together.  It's been great seeing people from all over the world taking pictures the same as your own.

We had to find....
1. Open air market
2. Theatre for performing arts (not a movie theatre)
3. City Hall, Capitol or other similar civic building
4. Aa aeroplane
5. A sunset
6. Someone or something taking a nap
7. A sign that is intentionally or unintentionally funny
8. A tower
9. A photo with someone or something that is clearly out of place or doesn't belong
10. A bench that is outside
11. An animal in a zoo, aquarium, nature preserve, etc.
12. A cloud in the shape of something (please specify what you see)
13. A fence
14. A stained glass object or a mosaic
15. A fire truck or police car
16. A windmill
17. Candle(s)
18. Your local pub/bar, coffee house or tea shop
19. A fisherman
20. A dinosaur
21. A photograph of you with an artistic tool or craft supply (you cannot substitute for this item)
Bonus/substitute items. If you find any of the above items too difficult, feel free to substitute either (or both) of these items. You can substitute up to two items, but you cannot substitute Item #21:
1.  A person wearing an outfit (or item of clothing) that symbolises your country
2.  A sundial

my last two pictures are

#17 - Candle(s).  With a house full of them you'd have thought this would have been one of the first photos I'd have taken.
and finally....
A sundial -  I just never seemed to be in the right place at the right time to get an Open air Market so took a picture of a sundial just in case I needed a spare.  Turns out I did.
It's been a lot of fun taking these pictures and it really makes you look at your surroundings.  You never know what you might see on your travels.  I'm looking forwards to next years already.

Florida Album Pt 1

I meant to post about these a few weeks ago but with one thing and another they got pushed to one side.  I bought a really nice Red Polka dot, D-ring album from Sarah's Cards to use for my Florida album.

It's very Mini Mouse.

So far I've done a few layouts with a whole heap more to go.

#1.  The front page.  I'm not too sure about this one and I may undo it and start again.
#2.  The Magic Kingdom.  Could go all that way and miss out on a photo op, could I?
#3.  Cletus - git ma gun.  The teenager loves the Simpsons and it always talking like Cletus so I had to do this layout.
#4.  Splash Mountain.  This was the very first ride we went on.
#5.  Zapped.  John and Samuel getting "Zapped" outside the Simpsons ride at Universal Studios.
#6.  Krustyland.  We thought the ride would be busy but it was really quiet and we got straight on.
#7.  Pretzels.  I really wanted to try a real American Pretzel but to be honest they weren't very nice.  Very doughy with too much salt.
#8.  Harry Potter Land.  The start of my favourite bit at Islands of Adventure.  Hogwarts Express.
#9.  Hogwarts Castle.  An amazing building.  Shame it's just a ride.  It would have been cool to look around inside.
#10.  Hogsmeade.  Butterbeer anyone?  Brilliant, just brilliant.
#11.  Sea World.  I loved the Killer whales but the rest of the park was a let down.  No sharks and no dolphin displays.
#12.  Jurassic Park.  It might be 20 years old but it was still good.  We went on this ride twice and I got soaked ........ twice.
#13.  Rockin Rollercoaster.  L♥ve, l♥ve, l♥ved this ride.  An inside, in the dark rollercoaster with twists and turns and all to the sounds of Aerosmith.  Love in an Elevator........................Epic.  My sister, on the other hand didn't like it one bit!!
#14.  We are family.  Ruth and I took approx 1600 photos between us yet there is only one of the three of us.
#15.  Park Hair.  Speaks for itself.  The only way around a bad hair day is to get a hat.  Or pinch one from your sister!!

So that's it for now.  More layouts to come in the next few weeks.
