Happy Easter/Happy Holidays to you all.
We're not up to much today. John has an egg to paint for a Team Challenge at work!!. The Teenager has yet another chesty cough (Dr tomorrow me thinks), I'm going to sit in the sun and do some crochet and then later we'll take Moss for a walk before supper.
Here's my window display complete with flying chicks (blue & purple ones) and if you look closely you can see a green chick just sitting in the bird house.
The letters were done on my Cricut, which needed the dust blown off it before I could use it and I managed to use up some very flowery papers I've had for forever. I just love Monofilament for hanging things up. It's so strong but almost invisible.
The painted eggs I've had since the Teenager was little and I think I bought them from Baxters in the village.
The sun was out for a little while on Friday and I just managed to catch the shadow on the living room carpet.
Enjoy your day whatever you are up to.

The last day of term
Yesterday was the last day of term and as a treat the Head Teacher bought us all one of these.......
I bought a left-over one home for the Teenager but if I'm honest I'm hoping he doesn't want it as it is the most delicious thing I've eaten in a long time.
There are only two words to describe it.
Calorifically challenged :0)

Easter Chicks
Next Friday (Good Friday) the High Street in the village is decorating windows for Easter. I'm not really sure what I'm doing yet but saw these little chickies somewhere (I will try and remember where and post a link) and thought they'd be really good in a display.
Problem is I can't get their feet right. I manage one but then once I've put the wire through the chick my mind goes to mush and I can't remember how I did the first one. As you can see he has one gammy foot and one normal one.
It's all trial and error at the moment but I still have the weekend to figure it out.
If you're wondering how big the chicks are here's one next to a £2.00 coin.

Red Nose Day
Yesterday was the 25th Anniversary of Comic Relief or Red Nose Day.
At school we wore odd shoes and ate lots of cakes. Male members of staff had their legs waxed by some of the seniors and there was activities in the hall at lunch time.
In the office we had a great time.
We wore our odd shoes.
We ate our cakes
and we wore our noses (except Joonie who had a cold and couldn't breath with one on even if she had one !!!)
and Sharon won the Red Nose Day cake in the raffle. It made us laugh because as she's doing well on her diet she'd only just said she hoped she didn't win it. It has now been donated to a local old folks home for them to enjoy with a cup of tea. She might just get a bite in first though :0)

Simply a Moment - March 13
Friday 15 March 2013 - 10pm
There's just me left in the living room watching Comic Relief. They're talking about how hunger kills children every day in Africa.
They show a film of a young couple who's son Vincent is dying from hunger. He's 4 years old. His parents have spent approximately a months wages on a taxi to get him to hospital. Vincent has anaemia and needs blood but it's 2 hours away. His parents look after him tenderly. The nurse shakes his head. Eventually the blood arrives but sadly at 10pm, one night in Africa, Vincent dies.
Tears stream down my face. My own son is healthy, warm and well fed. Others aren't so lucky.
I count my blessings and hope that my small donation will help in some way. If one child survives it will be worth it
I wimp out. I can't watch anymore. It's too upsetting. I turn off the TV.

Happy Mother's Day
Photo from Google
♥♥♥ Happy Mother's Day to all Mothers, Mums and Mummys ♥♥♥
I hope you all have a lovely day.
♥♥♥ So far I have had a lovely card from the Teenager, a bunch of lovely bright daffodils (my choice) and a card from my own LOVELY Mum. Both the Teenager and his Dad are cooking up something delicious for supper. I'm also taking a few hours off this afternoon to make some Easter chicks for the Easter window display in the village at the end of the month. The sun is out, the snow has been falling and so far it's been a good day ♥♥♥

Dear Art Teacher.................
The teenager is on the run up to his exams and at the moment that includes practicing drawing his chosen subject in art. He and his teacher have, shall we say, a difference of opinion when it comes to choosing what to do.
He asked me to write a letter telling her that he had changed his choice and had practiced sections of the picture as per her instructions.
John obviously decided he would write the letter instead!!!
Not quite sure who the child is in this house some days!! Luckily she was happy with the change and didn't need a letter.
