The "Veiled Vestal Virgin" by Raffaelle Monti at
Chatsworth House. She is sculpted from one piece of marble and is the most amazing thing I have ever seen. It really is hard to believe that her face isn't actually covered with a veil.
Keira Knightly gets to stare at her in the sculpture room in the film Pride & Prejudice which was filmed at Chatsworth although now she has been moved to the wooden room.
She is incredible beautiful ... and probably priceless! x
ReplyDeleteOh but this is a beautiful sculpter, Pride & Prejudce is a favorite book as well favorite movie of mine Liz......:-) Hugs
ReplyDeleteChatsworth House is a fabulous place to visit - I loved wandering around the gardens.
ReplyDeleteIt is a lovely place, we've been quite a few times as it's just up the M1 from us. Hoping to go again when they decorate for Christmas.
