Christmas Club Part 1

Thanks go to Sian for organising this little club as a bit of fun in the run up to the Big Day.  Start with

At Christmas we...............

and write about it, scrap it, make a list, blog it.... It's up to you.

At Christmas we always went around to Nana’s on Christmas Eve.  If I remember correctly we either opened our presents then or got them and took them home, either way presents were involved.  We all sat around and chatted and the adults had a drink (or possibly two).

Nana always made the same toast.  “Here’s to temperance” to which the reply was always “Perish the thought”.  I didn’t know what it meant at the time but the grown-ups always laughed!!

  1. Ha! I've never heard that toast before, but I love it and can feel the need to borrow it for this year. Thank you!

I've added a linky now, so I'll add you in, with grateful thanks for a story to make us smile

  4. Nana always bought (and drank!) Templar sherry and part of me thinks she chose that particular brand because she felt it had a "good Catholic" feel to it ... here's to temperance!

  6. What a great toast. Funny how things that went over our heads as children, have new meaning looking back.

  9. After the word Christmas, I immediately think of a not very pleasant situation for me. I have a tradition of giving presents to all my friends and family at Christmas, but this time I almost broke it, because I lost my job shortly before the holiday. I was not desperate and started looking for top resume reviews and found here , they are the best of their kind
