Me on a Monday - 20 March 23

I was MiA the other week due to a very nasty chest infection.  One set of anti-biotics, a chest x-ray and several blood tests later and I seem to be on the mend.  Needless to say I didn't do much that week and had a few days off work.

It was back to work last Monday and it was extremely busy as we were three down in the office.  Luckily Mrs C and I had two days where the teachers were on strike so we managed to catch up.

We picked up our, new to us, car and had the best ever service at the showroom. You'd have thought we were buying a brand new one. They treated us like VIPs and had the car ready in a separate room with a cover over it which had a huge bow on.  It even had our names on the sign at the door.

Our new baby.

I had my appointment at the local private hospital and got the news I thought I would get.  I need an operation but at £15,000 I will have to wait the 2 years for the NHS.  At least I know what I need and I can manage until I get the op.

We've booked to get our new bathroom installed.  It's not until 14 August but with the chance of being without a shower for a week it was the best time to do it as we're off for the summer holidays.  This will be the first thing that hubby hasn't done himself and he's not coping too well with someone coming in and doing the work!!

Mrs C bought cupcakes for us all for Mother's Day but as there was only me and her in we had to find willing volunteers to eat the others.  It didn't take long.

Hubby and I took the boys training.  Considering they are only 9 months old, they did a great job.  They are now crashed out on their beds and will probably be there for the rest of the evening.

It's only two weeks until the end of term, which means two and a half weeks until our trip to Scotland.  I can't wait to see everyone.  It's been too long.

I hope you all have a good week.

  1. OH MY how have I missed you blogging?!?! Well I'll be rectifying that with a catch up read after I finishing posting here. I love the new fur boys. Yikes that is a lot of money for going private. We are starting to see the two tier medical coverage here in Ontario, I'll say no more about that for now. I do hope that your wait will speed up. Now to go off & have a catch up read! ... Mary-Lou

  2. I bet you can't wait to have the opportunity to take that new car on a long journey!
Sorry to hear that you need surgery but if it isn't urgent I can totally understand that the price ticket on the op is so high that you can wait to have it done. Wouldn't it be nice if waiting lists ended up being shorter than you were told they may be?

    1. Hi Hena. Our healthcare is free in the UK but if you want to go private, and avoid the wait, it is so expensive. Thanks for stopping by.

  5. Oh my goodness, what a lot has been happening ... I'm so sorry to hear about the wait and hope it is manageable for you. A new car looks as if it will make the Scotland trip more pleasurable. It is hard letting go of the reins. isn't it - my other half still wants to clamber about on the roof as if he's thirty instead of nearly seventy!
