Me on Monday - 22 & 29 April 2024

Monday 22 April 2024

Today is not a good washing day.  In fact it's grey and miserable.  Where is the sun? 🌞 I'm not sure what is the weather doing, but it needs to make up it's mind soon.  It's Spring for goodness sake!!

Last week was a slow week.

I still have a  few niggly aches and pains, which I'm keeping an eye on.  If I still have them in a few days I'll get in touch with the Dr.

I had a visit from my Auntie & Uncle, which was nice.  We had a good time catching up, but I did laugh as we mainly talked about our aches and pains :0).  Oh the joy of being over 50!!

I sat in the garden with the boys when the sun came out.  I'm loving our apple tree at the moment.  Hubby is training it along the fence to give us more room in the garden.  It's looking good for it's first year.

I looked for a new crochet project.  My monkeys have gone to their new home and I was looking for something new to do.  I have a few unfinished projects on the go but couldn't find the umph needed to finish them off.  Luckily the lady who asked for the monkeys also asked for a scarecrow so that's where I'm up to now.

Recently on audible I have listened too....

Husband and Wife - K L SlaterWe promised to keep each other’s secrets. Until they found the body…  Two people fighting for their lives. Two people with secrets to hide. Who will you believe?

We Play Games - Sarah A DenzilEffie and Ben May have everything. Success. Beauty. Glamour. But beneath the charming smiles and expensive clothes, a twisted game is in progress.  While Effie and Ben scheme and manipulate those around them, they fail to notice their carefully cultivated façade crumbling away. The perfect couple soon turn the game on each other, breaking all the rules. But when the stakes are life and death, losing isn’t an option.  As the final cards are dealt, who will play the winning hand and who will pay the ultimate price?

Back to the Dr this week.  More blood test (all normal) and now waiting to find out what comes next!!  Oh Gosh.  There is always something.

I managed to get out with the boys for a walks up the hill.  A little further every day.

Hubby and I went to the theater to see Everyone's Talking About Jamie.  I loved it.  Him?  Not so much.

I made a scarecrow for a lady at work.  Not quite right, but not bad for a first attempt.

New crochet project started.

Listened to

The Rise - Shari Low & Ross KingWhen we bury our secrets, they always come back to haunt us... Their rise was meteoric. Only a few years before, they had been three friends from Glasgow, just trying to survive tough lives of danger and dysfunction. But on one Hollywood evening in 1993, they were on the world’s biggest stage, accepting their Oscar in front of the watching world. That night was the beginning of their careers. But it was also the end of their friendship.

Watched

Mary & George - Sky TV The story of the Countess of Buckingham, who moulded her son to seduce King James I and become his all-powerful lover through intrigue, making her family richer, more titled, and more influential than England had ever seen.
