It comes to us all!!

Lastly for today is my trip to the Optician!! Guess what? Yes you guessed it the "Over 40s eyes" have arrived and I now need glasses for reading and using the PC!! It's not too bad just yet but enough to make my right eye feel fuzzy at times. Wasting no time in looking for a pair of frames I ummed and ahhed for an hour (with no help from John who didn't like anything I picked up as he said he wasn't used to me wearing glasses and they all looked odd) before finally settling on a burgundy pair of FCUK. I get a voucher from work as they're for VDU use and I also get 'buy one pair, get one free' so they work out at £35 a pair!! I just have to wait for work to send me the paperwork (as they were too slow in sending it through for today) and then I can go and get them made up. The lovely girl in the shop said I would feel alien wearing them for a while and I think she may be right. I don't mind though as I think they're "Well Funky" :0)

  1. At last! Now, it's not just me, but you'll need to get some in, as you're about 28 years behind!!

  2. I've had over 40s eyes since I was at primary school. Mine were expensive though as I needed the lenses thinning so they weren't like milk bottle bottoms!!! One pair have already been back to Specsavers as the coating started to come off. Did Susan serve you? She is so lovely.

  4. Oh Liz sweetie...
I love them, and you will notice a big difference in headaches, and how you eyes won't feel as tired at the end of the day.

I have been wearing glasses since the 4th grade, and I am rather used to them. They just became a part of me, if I wanted to see who was on the other side of the street. I need mine for distance, and then I have another pair for reading the computer and actually I read a book better without any glasses at all.

I just got new ones too. I will have to post them soon, so you all can see them.

I love yours. John will get used to them, and you will learn to love them. Do you know some people actually wear glasses with clear glass? They don't need glasses but love the look, so they have clear lenses put in them. Imagine that will you?

Have a beautiful evening. Country hugs and much love sweetie...Sherry

  5. Jo the girl's name was Laura and she was really helpful. I had no idea what to look for or what shape and she told me what would suit etc and what colours. She must have thought I was a right muppet as I didn't have a clue!!
